Delivering outstanding rail performance for HS2

Our Rail Logistics Team working for HS2 have continued to deliver industry leading performance conducting the muck away by rail for HS2 in London. Our operations have seen almost 4 million tonnes of excavated material disposed by rail on over 2,700 trains, from HS2’s tunnelling and station excavations in London. At peak we ran 7 outbound spoil trains per day alongside an inbound daily tunnel segment train from our managed rail terminal in Willesden. Operational 24 hours a day our site processed and dispatched up to 10,000 tonnes of excavated material per day at the projects peak in 2024.

After almost 5 years of operations and over 3 years of Early Contractor Involvement, we have now successfully completed our involvement with the fantastic HS2 project. Working alongside SCS Railways as principal contractor for HS2, our embedded rail team were responsible for managing the 8 different members of the Rail Logistics Supply Chain, ensuring continued high levels of performance and safety during operations. As package manager for all 8 packages we were responsible for the administration of each NEC3 contract and ensuring that we delivered in line with all contract KPI’s, ensuring value was delivered to our Client.
