Rail Timetable Review

In April this year, LIS was awarded a contract by the Office of Rail and Road (ORR) to undertake an independent assessment of capacity constraints for a strategic section of a key route on the UK rail network.

The objective of this assessment was to provide ORR with assurance in their decision making when considering and responding to additional applications to run more trains over the route.

The assessment considered the application of Train Planning Rules, capacity constraints and operational performance impact of these additional applications.

Having carried out a thorough assessment, we provided ORR with a comprehensive report and presentation, outlining clearly our findings, enabling the ORR to fully consider this in their decision making.
