Rail deliveries of HS2’s tunnel ring segments in London

Working alongside the Skanska Costain Strabag joint venture, our embedded rail team have successfully facilitated the concept and delivery design of the rail sidings at West Ruislip which will receive over 400 trains of tunnel segments for the first stages of the London tunnels for HS2.

Further to the above, in 2024 our team at Willesden Euroterminal will manage up to 6 inbound tunnel segment trains per week, alongside up to 35 outbound spoil trains per week, for the excavation and construction of the HS2 Northolt Tunnels East. 35,000 tunnel segments in, and 2 million tonnes of spoil out, will all be moved sustainably by rail and managed real-time by our Control Tower, utilising our Rail Logistics IT system, BulkSmart.
